Our LAC Recap

11 February 2019

We’re back from LAC and with a lot to talk about!

LAC is the biggest and most relevant of the Affiliate Conferences. It’s not all work work work though; with other important events around the clock such as ICE and many industry Awards such as IGA and iGB Affiliate Awards, the week translates into a lot of things to do and even more people to meet. So here is our recap of how the whole week went down from A to Z. We had an amazing time, which is not that difficult to pull off when visiting London.

We arrived on Wednesday and made our way almost directly to ICE, as usual, the Excel Conference Center was no letdown. With stands anywhere you placed your eyes on, it’s understandable why LAC has consolidated its reputation as one of the main B2B events in the field. It’s always interesting to see upfront the many things coming to our industry in terms of games, trends, new game providers or simply get a grasp of what can be expected in the following months. After our visit to ICE it was time to head out to the Welcome Drinks to be hosted at the Tower Bridge Hotel and followed up an event hosted by Catena.

The next day it was crunch time! We headed off to LAC and downed as many cups of coffee as are deemed acceptable, and then some more, and kicked off the first day. The day was lively, upbeat and you could feel everyone’s energy, so much so, that closing time didn’t even feel as such, as it was still packed with attendees from all parts of the world. That evening we hosted one of our Alea Dinners at SushiSamba London. Located on a 39th floor, the mere ride up combined some good ol’ vertigo and jaw-dropping views of the city. Once there, both the team and our guests enjoyed some fantastic cocktails in the bar section followed up by a delicious meal with views of the city.

Friday marked the second and last day of LAC, equally busy and interesting. Affiliate Manager held an interview with Slotsfighter about our brands, the industry and what’s coming; which is going to be released any time soon (we’ll keep you posted!). After many many meetings it was time to say goodbye to LAC until 202o, and get ready for the iGB Affiliate Awards, industry awards in which we were nominated for two categories: Alea Affiliates as Best Affiliate Program for Casino; and Thomas Hernandez as Best Affiliate Manager celebrated at the Brewery London where everyone had a wonderful time. It was a true and immense honor to have been nominated in two different categories, especially amongst such great competitors!

We would like to congratulate our long-standing friend Ian Sims, creator of Rightlander, for becoming the winner of Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award. Rightlander is an Affiliate Compliance site scanner that helps both affiliates and Operators uphold compliance standards in various ways, with which we are truly pleased to be working with.

Our past week was a fantastic experience altogether; London never disappoints as a city and LAC never disappoints as the main event in our industry. These events are of great significance to network, learn, establish new deals, and enjoy some team building memory-making along the way. If you had a meeting with us during LAC and would like to follow up on it you can contact the person you spoke to directly or hit us up via [email protected].

Thank you to everyone for stopping by our stand in LAC, for being part of the rich conversations held in the past week, to the iGB Affiliate Awards for a fantastic time, to Sushisamba for being such wonderful hosts, and of course -almost goes without saying- to our amazing affiliates. If you are just recently joining this ride, welcome to this partnership; let’s make the best out of it.

Next up: Amsterdam Affiliate Conference! But before, here are are some photos to better illustrate the week.
